FILE TOOLS / FILERENAME

New names.
Same exact files.

Set the rules, review every name, download renamed copies.

Select your files

Up to 100 individual files, 100 MiB total. Flat batches only.

Contents are not read until you prepare downloads. Archives are treated as ordinary files, never extracted. Empty files are supported.

Safety and memory limits

Names are checked for Windows device names, unsafe characters, paths, trailing dots/spaces, and a 255-byte UTF-8 length limit. Outputs must be unique after compatibility normalization and case-insensitive comparison. These are conservative portability checks, not a guarantee for every filesystem.

ZIP creation happens in memory and may temporarily need several times the selected size. A 100 MiB selection may be too large on a low-memory device. Cancel or clear prevents a stale download, but an active browser read/ZIP operation may take time to settle. Close the tab if the browser becomes unresponsive.

Build your naming rule

The last dot marks the extension: “archive.tar.gz” keeps “.gz”. A single-dot file such as “.env” has no extension. Prefixes and suffixes keep the exact case you type.

Numbering options

Order: literal replacement → case → prefix/suffix → optional number → preserved extension. No regular expressions or automatic filename repairs.

Review the complete mapping

Nothing to review yet

Use Move up / Move down to explicitly change order. Numbering follows this exact order. Duplicate source names are allowed only when the output names are unique. Unsafe control/direction characters are shown as Unicode escapes.

A clean handoff, without touching the source.

  1. Select & configure.

Files stay in this tab. All rules apply to the selected order.

  2. Review every mapping.

Unsafe names and collisions block the entire export.

  3. Download your copies.

Unchanged file bytes, new names, and an auditable mapping.
